Let me tell you why I hate The Blair Witch Project
A few days ago, as part of our spooky season viewing, we watched Ghostwatch. You heard about this? You heard about what those crazy kids at the BBC did to national treasure Michael Parkinson?
If you've not heard of it before, Ghostwatch was a 1992 Halloween TV special. It was a live broadcast of an investigation into a supposedly haunted house, with Parky hosting in the studio, while presenter Sarah Greene reports from the house itself.
It is all presented as real. The presenters are genuine BBC presenters. There were phone lines open so people could call in with their own experiences. In 1992 the BBC pulled a War of the Worlds on the general public of the UK. It is, as Jamie puts it, the kind of joke you can only do once.
